I'd take any tips now, I'm ready to upgrade if necessary but then I need to buy new MB, new CPU, new RAM and possibly new PSU so. cord was still in wall however but idk it seems like a stretch since nothing else was broken and the router etc have apparently been plugged in all while I was away (not connected to computer)

seems unlikely that it would be lightning striking since computer was turned off and cord pulled. any ideas? Is it bricked? Could this be caused by a bad PSU unit? (I've suspected it's been going bad for a while because of weird startups and being really old) Could there have been a thunderstorm while I was away (noone has been in apartment). I even tried the ERALL.ROM and the ERALL.CAP trick just to be sure but it doesn't work either. Thinking something still went bad with the flash I've tried using BIOS Flashback (followed all instructions with naming and files and all, it never works. However it does shine a red light on CPU indicating some sort of error.ĥ. My guess was first that it doesn't recognize the GPU or something (this MB does not have an internal GPU I could connect monitor to in order to check this). Computer rebooted and then it's just blank. Installation goes fine, it took a long time but it finished. CAP file but it wouldn't work because it gave error saying it wasn't a correct UEFI file, turns out they switched from.

Boots into BIOS, tried to update using the same file but it said it was outdated (figures, it was really old)ģ. renamed it properly according to their instructions.Ģ. I downloaded the earliest BIOS from Asus since all the new ones were. Got error that BIOS was in recovery mode and I needed to insert a USB with P9X79.ROM. Came home from a long trip, plugged in computer and booted. So I'll try to keep this short but there's a bunch of steps that led to this so here we go:ġ.
